Solstice Day Retreat
Saturday, June 22, 2024
10:30 - 6:00

Join Veronica and other fellow yoga practitioners in beautiful Squamish, B.C. for a day of yogic reflections and practices that will reset your nervous system and allow for integration before summer hits full swing.

10:30 - 12:00 Opening Circle & Asana

The Yoga Studio is a simple space located in the heart of downtown Squamish offering pretty views of the Stawamus Chief. Let's gather for a day of yogic study and movement in community with fellow yogis and yoginis.

1:15 - 2:15 Nature Bathing

Shinrin Yoku is a Japanese term referring to a process of relaxation. Being calm and quiet among the trees while observing nature and attuning to your breath is a very simple method of de-stressing and boosting energy.

3:15 - 4:30 Embodied Hatha Asana

In this practice, we will explore postures and techniques to bring balance to the Malas and feel into the body. Yoga teaches us to notice the sensations of the malas in order to understand our tendencies and free ourselves.

12:00 - 1:15 Lunch

Featuring fresh foods and crafts from local vendors, The Farmer's Market is offered in downtown Squamish every Saturday. Peruse the community tables, grab a delicious tamale, or bring your own lunch to enjoy in the park.

2:15 - 3:15 Workshop 1

According to Yoga, we are energy. Energy is a force with aspects that we embody. In this workshop, we will look at energy as the three Malas to understand how our sense of self is limited by universal and erroneous beliefs.

4:45 - 6:00 Workshop 2 & Closing Circle

Pranayama is a central practice in Yoga that elevates energy through  conscious breath regulation. In this closing workshop, we will explore the role of meditation and deep breathing in resetting the nervous system.

Give yourself this gift of time and rest.
